Kampala — St Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) has once again cemented its reputation as a cradle of national leadership after 12 of its old boys were elected to the 12th Parliament following the January 15 parliamentary elections.
Among the elected legislators is Gerald Karuhanga, the Member of Parliament for Ntungamo, alongside other SMACK alumni who secured seats across different constituencies.
Their election adds to the school’s long-standing tradition of producing influential leaders in politics, public service, and business.
St Mary’s College Kisubi, one of Uganda’s most prestigious secondary schools, has over the decades built a strong legacy of leadership formation, emphasizing discipline, academic excellence, and service. The presence of 12 old boys in the current Parliament underscores the school’s continued relevance in shaping the country’s political class.
SMACK joins other traditional institutions renowned for grooming national leaders, including Busoga College Mwiri and Ntare School, both of which have also produced numerous Members of Parliament, senior civil servants, and top professionals over the years.
The strong representation of alumni from these elite schools in the 12th Parliament reflects the enduring influence of Uganda’s historic education institutions in national leadership and governance.
