Businessman and veteran politician, Mike Mukula, has described the fallen former Bank of Uganda Governor, Robert Elangot, to have lived a humble and a simple life.
According to close family sources, Elangot died of natural causes Saturday morning at Kampala Hospital.
He was 87.
Following his death, a number of people, close and far, have come out to eulogize Elangot.
Mukula, who also doubles as National Vice Chairman NRM (Eastern), in a tweet Saturday evening said: “JRO ELANGOT (rip) was humble man and lived a simple life but associated very closely with his family and friends. I wish to extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends and may his soul rest in eternal peace Amen.”
In a separate tweet, he said, “Uganda-Teso has lost one of the most distinguished people in the country. He passed on this morning in Kampala Hospital. He served as deputy governor BOU for a long time but had served Uganda in various positions.”
