Due to the escalating fuel prices, Uganda Taxi Operators and the Government have agreed on the new rate for fares across the country.

This was after the taxi operators body presented to the Ministry of Works and Transport a revised Public Transport service fares across the country.

According to the Minister of State for Transport, Fred Byamukama, the proposed increment in fares has been reviewed to ensure that they are not exploitative.

The adjustments range from Shs 500 to Shs 5,000 depending on the distance.
