152 road users died on Ugandan roads across the country between January 29, 2023 and February 12, 2023; Police’s Traffic and Road Safety Directorate says.

The Directorate Spokesperson Faridah Nampiima says during this time, Traffic and Road Safety registered 749 accidents.

142 of these were fatal, 402 (serious) and 211 minor accidents.

The incidents involved 723 road users. Of these, 152 died while 571 were left seriously injured.

Nampiima attributes the accidents largely to reckless driving.
