Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has revealed that new cracks have been sighted at the west side of Kiteezi landfill.
Frank Rusa, the Acting Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), revealed that some cracks have been sighted at the west side of the Kiteezi landfill slope, thus indicating a looming tragedy if the people still living in the buffer zone don’t leave.
He made the revelation on Tuesday while appearing before the Presidential Affairs Committee, where he had been summoned to update MPs on progress of compensation and solutions to waste management in Kampala.
In August, the Kiteezi landfill buried and killed dozens of people. Some remain unaccounted for to date.
