Death Toll In Kampala Twin Bombings Rises To 4 As UPDF Officer Dies

The death toll in the double bombings in Kampala on Tuesday has risen to 4.
This after the death of George Katana, an army officer.
Katana, the police say died from the Mulago hospital on Wednesday.
Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga says: “We wish to confirm to the public that one of the victims to the bomb blast along Parliamentary Avenue identified as Katana George, succumbed to the critical injuries he sustained from the scene from Mulago Hospital. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
But according to A-Plus Funeral Services, Katana, 49, passed away on Tuesday 16th November, 2021 at Mulago hospital.
His death brings the number of fatalities to four (4).
A-Plus says Katana was born to Mr and Mrs Nathan Rukyeza in 1972 and worked with Total Energy and then turned to “private business”.
The Gazette understands that at the time of his death, Katana was working with the Office of the President.
Katana survived by four children.
According to A-Plus, burial will take place at their ancestral home in Olugamba, Romuyaga, Sembabule on Thursday at 02:00pm.
