Police: OC Station arrested for shooting to death 15-year-old on New Year eve

The police are holding one of their own identified as Coleb Asiimwe, the in charge of Mbalala Police Station for shooting to death a 15-year-old a few minutes after midnight on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Shamirah Nantambala, a daughter of Ssalongo Bigulu.
The incident happened when Nantambala was in a group of revelers celebrating the New Year.
An eyewitness (name withheld) told Uganda Radio Network (URN) that the OC arrived on the patrol, shooting at residents who had started the countdown few minutes to the New Year.
District Police Commander (DPC), Mukono Annabella Nyinamahoro, confirmed the incident, saying that Asiimwe has been arrested, and replaced.
According to Nyinamahoro, Asiimwe has been replaced by Olivia Nabikko.
The body of the deceased is currently at Kawolo Hospital Mortuary.
