Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament Francis Zaake has said he knows nothing about a plot to oust him from the office of the Commission of Parliament.
“My brother, i know nothing about that move. So, i am waiting for anything addressed to me in writing so that i know the content of it so that i know what to comment about,” Zaake said in an interview by telephone.
Our editor had asked him what he makes of the plot to throw him out of office.
He declined to respond to our follow-up questions.
“That’s all i can say, my brother,” he said politely.
By yesterday, a section of MPs were scheduled to move a motion seeking the removal of Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake, from the Parliamentary Commission office.
The motion is being spearheaded by Bardege-Layidi Division MP, Martin Ojara Mapenduzi (mover) and is to be seconded by MPs Agnes Atim Apea, the Amolatar Woman representative, Soroti West Division MP Jonathan Ebwalu and Busia Municipality MP Geoffrey Macho.
By the close of yesterday, the matter had been pushed to the House Committee on Rules, Privileges and Discipline under rule 175 of our Rules of Procedure and a report is expected to be presented to the House within two weeks from yesterday.
