Tough Times: Another radio station closes shop after 20 years in business

By An Executive Editor

Radio Kitara has closed shop, Kampala Gazette understands.

After over 20 years of informing, educating and entertaining their audience, the radio closed yesterday.

According to Joshua Basiima, Radio Kitara is a victim of economic hard times, “which all media houses are facing”

Radio Kitara is not the first radio station to quit radio business.

Not long ago, Uganda’s HipHop and RnB station, Hot100 shut down. Hot100 was owned by businessman Charlie Lubega of Silk Events/Club Guvnor.
