OPM officials found guilty of corruption, abuse of office

Two officials of the Office of the Prime Minister has been found guilty by the Anti-Corruption Court.

According to the Inspectorate of Government, Justice Jane Okuo of the Anti-Corruption Court this afternoon convicted Robert Baryamwesiga and Fred Kiwanuka Fred both OPM Camp Commandants attached to Bidi Bidi refugee resettlement camps with Corruption and Abuse of Office. However, they were acquitted of Money Laundering Charges.

The duo was earlier charged by the IGG with 3 Counts of Corruption, 3 Counts of Money Laundering & 2 Counts of Abuse of Office.

They have been remanded till tomorrow (Friday) at 2:00pm for sentence.
