Another Ugandan footballer joins Scottish team
Scottish league side, Peterhead, have announced the signing of Ugandan international defender, Enock Walusimbi.
The 23-year-old defender is another piece in the rebuilding jigsaw carried out by manager Jim McInally who has had to be patient in his pursuit of Walusimbi, who as well as playing for his national side four times, is the captain of their under-23 international side.
According to Jim, the club made a for Walusimbi about four weeks ago.
“… and there have been a few hurdles to overcome but the contract has been signed now which is a huge step forward and a bit of a coup for the club,” the club announced on their official website.
“We are now just awaiting clearance from the Scottish Football Association and his work visa. We said we would leave no stone unturned in terms of getting players to the club and Enock’s signing is another example of that.”
Walusimbi’s move follows that of Sadat Anaku (from KCCA) to Dundee United, a deal that happened less than two weeks ago.
