After two games down the road, Vipers SC return on home turf to take on West Nile side Arua Hill SC, for the Venoms sixth Uganda Premier League match this season, at 4pm this afternoon at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Vipers are keen on picking a second successive win for the first time this campaign, following our 1-0 victory over Blacks Power FC last time out.

The Club’s deputy skipper Siraje Ssentamu is optimistic the Venoms can build on the Blacks Power win to form a consistent run of positive results and move further up the table.

“Luckily enough, we won the game (against Blacks Power), as we were trying to get to the winning ways,” he said to Vipers Media.

“The place we are in now (eighth) is not where we are supposed to be so, we’re fighting to get our number one spot back. One step at ago, we’re trying to win every game that comes our way.”

Vipers and Arua Hill have met only twice with the visitos in the topflight in history, and have shared a victory apiece.

After suffering a 1-0 defeat to them in the first ever encounter last season, Vipers beat Arua Hill 3-1 at Kitende, courtesy of Cesar Manzoki, Milton Karisa and Yunus Sentamu.

Having missed the last two games through injury, Bright Anukani returns and is available for selection.

“He’s a key player and we have indeed missed him for the last games, but now he’s back and he’s an important player for us,” Vipers SC head coach, Coach Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho.

“He’s a really good player, been with us for a long time and we’ll see what happens because it’s also an important game tomorrow.”

Team News:

Midfielder Paul Mucureezi and winger Abdu Lumala will continue to be sidelined through respective injuries.
