The mother of Patrick Okabe (RIP) has collapsed to death after hearing news of her son’s death in an accident Monday morning.

Okabe, was the Member of Parliament for Serere County died in an accident at at Nabowa Town Council along the Mbale-Tirinyi Road, after his car registration number UBK 995F, was rammed into by an Isuzu Fuso (box body) registration number KCX 0710, killing him on spot. His wife, Chritine Okabe died on the way to Hospital. The driver only identified as Jacob has also been confirmed dead.

Traffic and Road Safety Directorate attributes the cause of the accident to the Isuzu box body driver who drifted from his side to the side of the Land Cruister that was coming from Mbale heading to Iganga, causing a head-on collision. 

The driver of the Fuso box body is on the run after causing the accident. 

However, following the news, Okabe’s mother collapsed in shock and died.
