We can’t afford to continue priding in education that doesn’t speak to the economy – Economist

1. Yesterday, I was Key Note Speaker at the 1st Memorial Lecture for Prof Lawrence Mukibi at St Lawrence University.
2. I argued that what we need right now is transformative education: What is transformative education? a) This is education that speaks to the county’s needs.
b) The teaching and training must be consistent with what the economy requires for transformation. 3. I demonstrated what is called the “Duo-qualification framework”, which is pursued in China and Germany.
Here, students have trained both academically and in the technical field preferred by the student. 4. The results have been phenomenal.
5. We cannot afford to continue priding in education that does NOT SPEAK TO THE ECONOMY.
6. WE MUST ADOPT TRANSFORMATIVE EDUCATION TRANSFORMATIVE EDUCATION.
