NTV Uganda’s Edward Muhumuza was rushing to submit his coursework when he got involved in an accident at Mpala along the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway.
Muhumuza, 32; died on the spot at 8:20am when a car (UBG 323S, Passo) he was driving in overturned as he exited Mpala Road Toll.
Traffic and Road Safety Directorate Spokesperson, Faridah Nampiima, attributes the incident to over speeding.
However, she says “more Inquiries are still at hand.”
His body has been conveyed to City Mortuary for postmortem examination.
By the time of his death, Muhumuza was pursuing a Bachelors degree in Journalism and Public Relations at Nkumba University.
His lecturer, Gorreti Kyeswa, is reportedly in distraught after receiving the news of Muhumza’s death on his way to class.
