Nine players have left the club ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The players leaving have either run down their contracts or have mutually agreed with the club to terminate their contracts. They are:

1. Benjamin Ochan (End of Contract)

The Captain has been serving the club for his third stint. He signed a two years contract from 2021 until the end of June 2023.

2. Brian Aheebwa (End of Contract)

Aheebwa signed a three years contract from 2020 till the end of June 2023. He has run down his contract.

3. Ali Mwirusi Ramadhan (End of Contract)

The KCCA Soccer Academy graduate has run down his contract with the club.

4. Geofrey Wasswa (End of Contract)

Wasswa signed a two years contract from 2021 to 2023. He has run down his contract.

5. Brian Majwega (End of Contract)

Majwega signed a two years contract from 2021 to June 2023. He has run down his contract.

6. Allan Okello (End of Contract)

The Soccer Academy graduate rejoined KCCA FC on a season long loan from AC Paradou and his loan deal ended in June 2023.  

7. Mustafa Kizza (Contract expires on 31st July)

In the second round of the 2022/23 season, the Soccer Academy graduate rejoined KCCA FC on a six months short contract until 31st July 2023.

8. Brian Kayanja (Mutual Termination)

Kayanja joined KCCA FC in 2021 for three years. He made his debut in 2022 and was later loaned to Maroons for the second round of the 2022/23 season. He has agreed with the club to mutually terminate his contract.

9. Denis Iguma (Mutual Termination)

Iguma joined KCCA FC in 2020 for two years. In 2022, he renewed his contract with the club until 2024. He has agreed with the club to mutually terminate his contract with the club.

New signings

Meanwhile, Brazilian youngster Joao Gabriel Esteves Cardoso has signed for KCCA FC.

The South American penned a two year deal until 2025 and he becomes the first Brazilian to play for KCCA FC.

Gabriel, a 21 year old winger / forward joins KCCA FC from ADC Cabofriense in Brazil.

He was born in Rio de Janeiro and has featured for Brazil’s Flamengo in U17 (2018) and U20 (2019-2020).

Joao also previously featured for Germany’s FCA Darmstadt.

Gabriel becomes KCCA FC’s first signing ahead of the 2023/24 season. He also becomes Sergio Traguil’s first signing at KCCA FC.

Gabriel is expected to report for pre season on Sunday 16th July at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Gabriel spoke to this club’s official website after putting pen to paper and he said.

I’ve always been interested in playing in Africa, and I’ve been following KCCA FC for a while now. I’m really impressed with their style of play, and I think I can fit in well with the team. I’m also excited to experience African culture and to play in front of the passionate fans. I want to help KCCA FC win the league title. There are a lot of talented players coming out of Africa, and I think the continent is becoming more competitive.
