Post-Covid-19, some organizations still continue to pursue the culture of working from home.

During the COVID-19 pandemic and especially the lockdown, one of the measures introduced to contain the spread of COVID-19, organizations adopted the culture of working remotely.

“COVID-19 brought some drastic changes in the work space. At Uganda Breweries, we still work remotely sometimes,” Juliana Kaggwa, UBL’s Corporate Relations Director, says.

She says three things can get one to work from home and still remain productive. These are:

  1. Get a structure for your morning routine. Have a daily routine that boosts your body to start the day whether its a workout session, or even something as simple as laying your bed and brushing your teeth. Always imagine you were actually going to the office, what would you do?
  2. Before you start working, pen down all your days tasks that need to be accomplished ranking them according to priority. Alternatively, use sticky notes and stick these tasks somewhere visible to keep looking at so that you keep you on track & ensure nothing is left pending.
  3. Time blocking is a crucial resource that needs to be used well. Use each block to accomplish a specific task. Whether it’s responding to messages, taking meetings or having a break. This my friends, will help you stay focused and productive while working remotely.
