The National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) has given Otuke County Member of Parliament (MP) Paul Omara a tractor meant for Cooperatives.
In 2020, the government procured nearly 300 tractors under NAADS to help farmers engage in large-scale commercial crop production. The tractors were to be given to organized and registered farmer groups, associations or cooperatives in a given locality, who will manage them on business principles.
Riding on the above background, in March 2023, a Cooperative in Otuke wrote to NAADS, requesting for a tractor.
However, MP Omara wrote to NAADS months later with blackmail, asking that the tractor be given to him as an individual.
Now, we have exclusively obtained, that NAADS has finally given the lawmaker the tractor.
The tractor is of registration number UBN 875L.
By press time, the tractor was parked at Ngetta Holdings, an establishment owned by the lawmaker.
