The Kawempe Territorial Police are currently conducting an investigation into a suspected murder following a disturbing discovery at Pleasure Guest House. On January 14, 2024, the manager, Ziraba Salim, found the lifeless body of an unidentified woman in Room 303.
The guest, Mwesigwa Paul, who booked the room, left after payment, only to return later that evening with an unknown person. The next morning, during a routine check, the manager found the room open and, upon entry, discovered the tragic scene.
Promptly responding, the police, including a team of homicide and forensics experts, conducted an initial investigation. Preliminary findings suggest the possibility of suffocation using a pillow after an intimate encounter. The deceased remains unidentified.
Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesman Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the incident.
He said a case file has been opened, and statements from witnesses have been recorded.
“The body has been transferred to Mulago City Mortuary for a thorough postmortem examination,” said Owoyesigyire.
Mwesigwa, who was last seen entering the room with the deceased, is currently on the run.
He added: All efforts are being made to apprehend him, to shed light on what exactly transpired with the deceased.
