A kick in the belly kills pupil after he declines to share packed food at break

A kick in the belly after a pupil declined to share his packed meal has ended the life of a 12-year-old.
It all started when Latif Nalumu turned up at school on Thursday at Nanoko Primary School in Kibuku district.
He had a packed meal for lunch.
At 9am, the school bell went off, signalling it was break time.
Like many little ones, Nalumu did not wait for lunchtime to dig into his meal.
He sat and enjoyed his meal as his mates ran towards him like flies would to a corpse.
However, he declined to share his meal.
A fellow pupil (name withheld) kicked him in the belly.
When it was time to return to class, Nalumu was leaking blood.
His teachers did not give it much attention until late in the afternoon when his condition deteriorated and was rolled on a bicycle by his friends to the nearest clinic and later Kibuku Health Centre IV from where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Regional Police Spokesperson Immaculate Alaso confirmed the incident.
Alaso said Nalumu’s body is at Mbale Hospital for an autopsy.
The matter, Alaso revealed, is under investigation Vide SD 19/20/01/2022 of Tirinyi Police Station.
