There is low-key worry among civil servants after salaries were delayed for over a week for the first time in a very long time.
Most civil servants are used to getting a salary by the 22nd of every new month.
However, by last evening, most civil servants had not received a message indicating they had been paid.
The army, prisons, and police officers have all been affected.
The Finance Ministry is yet to comment on the matter.
However, the delay comes barely a week after the NRM splashed over 20 billion on its delegates as they voted for new office bearers.
Some civil servants suggest that their salaries could have been diverted to sort the delegations of NRM.
