Kampala, Uganda — Bailiffs in Kampala have issued a notice to auction properties belonging to former Minister of State for Economic Monitoring, Henry Banyenzaki, over an outstanding loan balance.
According to a notice published by Vital Signs Debt Solutions in the Daily Monitor on Monday, October 20, 2025, the firm has been instructed by a financial institution to recover a loan through the sale of Banyenzaki’s mortgaged properties.
“We have been duly instructed by our client, a financial institution which is the registered mortgagee, to advertise and sell by public auction or private treaty the property described below to recover the outstanding loan balance and all other costs,” the notice reads in part.
The affected properties include buildings on Plots 694, 695, 696, and 700, Block 276 at Busiro County, as well as land at Naluvule in Kabulengwa Village.
The bailiffs further warned that unless full payment is made within 30 days, the properties will be disposed of to recover the lender’s money. Occupants have also been directed to vacate within 14 days to allow potential buyers to inspect the premises, with a threat of forceful eviction for non-compliance.
Banyenzaki, 58, previously served as Member of Parliament for Rubanda County West in Kabale District and was Minister of State for Economic Monitoring from 2011 to 2016. He currently serves as Director of Monitoring and Evaluation at the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) program under the Office of the President.
