Jamaican star Garfield Spence, alias Konshens, has won a mega case against Airtel Uganda, Onmobile Global Limited. Mtech Limited and Solunet Business Solutions Limited.

The gyal a bubble star had run to court against the defendants over caller tunes, for which the defendants were charging Shs 600 per download under the Hello Tunes program. He, through his lawyers at Ortus Advocates, argued that the defendants jointly and severally infringed copyrights in the suit songs and refused to account for proceeds from the said infringement or pay him any royalties.

Now, Justice Patricia Mutesi has ruled in Konshens’ favor and awarded him USD 180, 000 as compensation.

They will also cover the cost of the suit.
