Poachers have killed a Ranger with Uganda Wildlife Authority – UWA.

The deceased has been identified as Private Charles Okawa.

According to information available, Okawa was killed while on duty at Kidepo Valley Conservation area.

UWA Communications Manager, Bashir Hangi described Okawa as hardworking and committed to protecting Uganda’s wildlife.

Hangi says the killing “will not deter us from executing our mandate.”
