Lightening has left a pupil dead and several others injured.

The deceased has been identified as Paul Twinomugisha, 7. He was in P1 at Nyakatuntu Primary School.

The survivors have been identified as Twinomujuni Brighton, 14; Arinaitwe Denis, 5, and Ampurire Rajab, 4. They are all pupils of the same School.

Preliminary Police Report indicates that the incident happened at 5pm on Wednesday, while they were in one of the classes, as it drizzled outside.

According to Elifa Muhereza, the Chairman PTA of the School, he was reached out to provide transport for the evacuating of the pupils to the nearest health facility, which he did.

However, Twinomugisha was pronounced dead on arrival at KIU Teaching Hospital.

The incident is being investigated under SD REF 07/28/02/2024 of Nyabubare Police Post.
