ARRESTED, CHARGED & REMANDED: Stephen Mugeni Wasike
Earlier today, the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, working with the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), has arraigned Stephen Mugeni Wasike, the Chairperson of LC5 Busia District, before the Busia Chief Magistrate Court on charges of stealing a motor vehicle.
He has been remanded until 08/05/2025. On 8th March 2025, Stephen Mugeni Wasike, at the Busia District Local Government parking yard in Busia District, stole motor vehicle parts, including an engine and a gearbox, from the motor vehicle registration number UAK 827Z Toyota Hilux double cabin, property of Busia District Local Government valued at approximately Shs 30M.
