Casual laborer kills boss’ child over Shs 470, 000 unpaid arrears

Entebbe: A casual laborer has been held in connection to the murder of his boss’ child.
Jalia Katende, 3, went missing with her mother’s phone on 27.02.2022 and has been missing since.
Her body was found yesterday about 150 meters from her parent’s house in Junjo-Kitolo, Kasanje, Wakiso district.
However, the mother’s phone was tracked and later recovered with John Lubega, a former causal laborer at their home.
Lubega alleges he has been demanding the deceased’s family Shs 470,000.
“He is currently detained at Entebbe Police station on allegations of murder. The body of the deceased child was conveyed to city mortuary Mulago for postmortem,” Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said.
