The Police Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) is holding a senior official of Centenary Bank over desertion and forgery, Kampala Gazette has learnt.

James Matovu, the Bank’s Head of Security/Investigations was arrested Thursday and detained at the Special Investigations Directorate (SID), Kireka in Wakiso district.

Matovu is said to have forged a police discharge certificate which he used to join the bank in 2008. Matovu deserted the force in 2001 at the rank of a detective police constable.

The Police is yet to officially comment on Matovu’s arrest.

However, he faces two charges of desertion and forgery.
