The high-end nightclub, Guvnor, has closed shop.
The management has attributed the closure to a “sharp drop in business.”
As a result, the night spot is ceasing Saturday night operations starting in June 2024.
“The Club shall however remain available for hire on Saturdays for: Private Parties/Events/Concerts/Product Launches/Presentations. Guvnor Uganda is still available for hire on other days of the week, EXCEPT on Fridays,” Guvnor said in a statement on Friday. “Please note, we shall remain officially open only on Fridays for; – Friday Night Live with Afrigo Band (Every last Friday of the month) – Oldies Night (Every first Friday of the month) – Guvnor FriYAY with Aka Dope Band (Every second Friday of the month). – Guvnor FriYAY – Afro Fusion Night (Every third Friday of the month). We thank you and truly appreciate your support through the years.”
For some time now, night clubs in the city centre have suffered a drop in the turn up.
As a result, the ceased operations. These include Amnesia and Silk among others.
