Community Development Officer arrested for soliciting for money from PDM groups
By Davis Mugabi
A Community Development Officer (CDO) has been arrested in Kassanda district.
The suspect has been identified by Police as Yahaya Ssenkayi.
Ssenkayi reportedly registered 11 groups so as to benefit from services under the Parish Development Model (PDM). Sources add that Ssenkayi went on to ask for Shs 100, 000 for registration per group. Whereas some complained and said they could only afford Shs 50, 000, some declined totally to give the ‘bribe’.
Against the above background, the Police was tipped and had Ssenkayi arrested.
Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga confirmed Ssenkayi’s arrest this morning while addressing the media at the Police headquarters in Naguru.
