Confusion as Turkish aircraft lands without Lokodo’ body

By Marvin Ocol

Close relatives and funeral company, A-Plus were this morning left confused after a Turkish Airline aircraft landed with the remains of fallen ex-Ethics minister, Fr. Simon Lokodo.

Initially, Lokodo’s body was to arrive at Entebbe Airport on Saturday 5th February 2022, at 4:40am aboard Turkish Airline, flight number TK 1918 from Geneva to Istanbul and flight number TK 612 from Istanbul to Entebbe.

However, it emerged to relatives and A-Plus that the body was not there.

No proper explanation was given, a family member said.

Our sources at the Uganda Human Rights Commission say that Lokodo’s body is expected at 4am on Sunday morning aboard Turkish Airline.

By press time, mourners were trickling in for a vigil at the deceased house in Seeta, Mukono.

The vigil is expected to continue tomorrow, Sunday.

On Monday, there is going to be a requiem mass at Christ the King Church in Kampala.

On Tuesday morning, the body will be airlifted to Karenga district for burial at 5pm that same day.
