Covid-19: Kampala on fire as Health Ministry reports 243 new cases in 2 days

Ministry of Health data shows that Kampala tops in the number of Covid-19 new infection rate.

In the past two days, Kampala alone accounted for over 80% of the new cases.

Results of COVID-19 tests done on 8 June 2022 confirm 119 new cases. This means that the cumulative confirmed cases is 166,046. The breakdown of the new cases is: 117 Alerts and Contacts; Kampala (86), Wakiso (10), Mbale (5), Jinja (6), Rubirizi (3), Bududa (2), Kabale (2), Mukono (1) Busia (1), Mityana (1) 2 Truck drivers from Mityana.

Meanwhile, results of COVID-19 tests done on 7 June 2022 confirmed 124 new cases, putting the cumulative confirmed cases are 165,927. The breakdown of the new cases is: 124 Alerts and Contacts: Kampala (98), Wakiso (9), Rubirizi (5), Jinja (4), Gulu (2), Mbarara (4), Adjumani (1), Kabale (1)
