The Annual Crime Report 2022 has shown that the number of cases registered at Police Station across the country increased by 18% in 2022.

According to the report, the Police registered 231, 653 cases in 2022. This is in comparison to 196, 081 cases registered in 2021.

While releasing the report Wednesday morning, the Inspector General of Police Martins Okoth Ochola attributed the increase to the full reopening of the economy in 2022 and the growing confidence (in the public) to report cases to the Police.

Ochola say that the focus (in 2023) will shift to digitization of the Force’s services in a continued fight against crime.
