The electorates of Lira City West Division are mourning the passing of their mayor, Michael Ogwal Achonga.

Achonga died on Saturday at Mulago Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Burial arrangements are yet to be communicated.

Meanwhile, the Judiciary has announced the passing of Her Worship, Aanyu Margaret, the Chief Magistrate Soroti. Aanyu died on Sunday morning at Kampala Hospital.

“Funeral arrangements to be announced later,” the Judiciary posted on X this evening.
