Deputy Speaker Tayebwa’s brother-in-law dies in nasty city accident

The territorial traffic police at Nansana has today Monday 14th. November 2022 registered a serious accident that later turned fatal at Namungona flyover on the Kampala Hoima road.

The accident which occurred at around 12:40pm involved motor vehicle registration number UAQ 927S that was being driven by Geoffrey Magala, a 35-year businessman and a resident of Nabweru North in Wakiso district, and a motorcycle registration number UFE 322J ridden by Mubarak Barugahare, 43.

The victims: a rider and his passenger who has been identified as Mark Bahati a 40-year-old operations manager of Tayari Rods Limited Uganda and a resident of Nabweru in Nansana Division were rushed to Nakasero Hospital. 

Unfortunately, Bahati was later pronounced dead. Bahati was the brother-in-law of Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa.

Traffic and Road Safety Spokesperson Faridah Nampiima says “Investigations into the cause of the accident are underway.”

“My brother in law Mr. Bahati Mark has died in an accident today morning. We are shattered as a family. He was our pillar. Always there for us. Burial arrangements will be announced later. Keep us in your prayers,” Tayebwa said after receiving news of Bahati’s death.
