A young doctor, who saved the life of a child, swapped with a dead one, is a dead.
Dr. Pius Rwamafa died Wednesday morning.
A number of the country’s who-is-who have come out to eulogize the deceased.
“In profound sorrow, I learnt the news of Dr. Pius Rwamafa’s untimely passing in his prime time. On behalf of @ShieldInvestors, my family, and myself, our heartfelt condolences go out to Mrs. Victoria Nshemereirwe Rwamafa and the bereaved family. Uganda’s Medical Fraternity mourns the loss of a dedicated professional,” Col. Edith Nakalema said in a post on X.
Col. Nakalema adds: I’ve known Dr. Rwamafa for 6 years, and his heroism in aiding the recovery of a newborn baby that had been swapped with a dead one touched our hearts at @AntiGraft_SH in 2020. His dedication led him to Mulago National Referral Hospital, where he served with unwavering commitment. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Pius was a beacon of hope, tirelessly caring for patients and supporting their families. His impact extended far and wide. Personally, we’ve lost a son, a friend, and a colleague. My prayers are with his family during this trying time. May God grant you strength and solace.
