Dr. Wamasebu: DNA test confirm Body recovered in Kenya is for former Manafwa DHO
DNA tests have confirmed the death of Dr. Gideon Wamasebu, 62, the former District Health Officer Manafwa District.
Dr. Wamasebu went missing from his home in Namabasa Sub-county in Mbale City. On Monday, a body was found buried in a shallow grave near River Kakamega in Kabras Village, Kakamega County, Kenya.
The body was later exhumed on Tuesday by Ugandan and Kenyan medical personnel to carry out tests.
The deceased’s daughter Bridget Nekesa, says that the DNA test confirmed that the body was of her father. Nekesa adds that some members of the family have traveled to Kakamega to collect the body.
Wamasebu left his home in Mbale on February 6th, in the company of his niece for a workshop in Kenya. He didn’t call back, as usual, to inform his family whether or not he had reached his destination. The other call that came was from a kidnapper and wanted a ransom, a family source says.
