RIP: Dr. Wilfred Olila
Four people have been charged and remanded following the murder of ENT surgeon, Dr. Wilfred Olila.
Dr. Olila was brutally murdered on January 17, 2025, in Lira, and the body was dumped in Otuboi in the Kalki district.
Earlier, the Kampala Gazette reported that one of the lines investigators were following was that of a property battle with close relatives.
Now, out of the four suspects on remand, two are close relatives while others were hitmen.
They are Joel George Okello and Joseph Okabo. The others are hitmen Geoffrey Mwesigw, a bouncer at Oak Bar and Restaurant in Mbale, and Steven Kalama, a culvert maker and a resident of Bukedea.
Other suspects remain on the run.
The case was adjourned to March 11, 2025, when the suspects will reappear in court.
