Environment: My Tree Initiative Has Planted 700, 000 Trees In 3 Years, Greened 95 Schools

Ahead of World Environment Day marked recently, we reached out to My Tree Initiative through their Twitter handle and asked them a few questions.

Below is the Q & A.

Question: How many trees would you say you have planted since you started this initiative?

Answer: It is not just about saying, but also ensuring they grow to maturity!

My Tree Initiative has planted nearly 700,000 trees in 3 years. And has greened 95 schools.

Crown Beverages Ltd led by Maggie Kigozi recently supported the My Tree Initiative in their efforts to make Uganda a greener, healthier & more beautiful place.

Question: Across the country?

Answer: Yes: 700, 000 across the country.

Question: Against what target?

Answer: Our target is to plant a million more trees by the end of this year:- through our flagship program named: #milliontreechallenge

Question: What else is there to admire about this initiative?

Answer: And through our Remember Me book of tree dedications, where we capture names and stories and all Ugandans we’ve lost to COVID-19 and each name written is planted a tree for.

This is in the memory of those lost to Covid-19.
