Ex-MP Hussein Kyanjo: Burial date set

JEEMA Party has set date for laying to rest the body of fallen former Makindye West Member of Parliament, Hussein Kyanjo.

Kyanjo died Saturday morning at Kibuli hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Now, JEEMA, a party he founded, has appointed Sunday, July 23, 2023 as burial date.

According to JEEMA, burial will occur at Kyanjo’s ancestral home in Ntuma, Bukomansimbi district, at 2pm.

“He did credible work in governance , Public Service , Politics and was a voice to reckon with,” Dr. Sarah Bireete.

“One of the few most consistent politicians the country has had,” Ismael Kiyonga.

“During his tenure as MP, he demonstrated high degree of judgement and represented his pple, faith and country well,” Emmanuel Dombo.

“One of the few principled politicians of our time…he never turned on his bed,” Samuel Sejjaaka.

“It is with great pain that we received the news of the passing of our elder and former Makindye West MP Hon Hajj Hussein Kyanjo. Hajj set the bar for legislative excellence and leaves a legacy of a distinguished lawmaker, a unifying factor and a leader who exhibited integrity. Our sympathies to his family, friends and the people of Makindye West, Kampala, and Uganda at large. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un!” Speaker of Parliament, Annet Anita Among.
