Undoubtedly, the death of former Security Minister, Gen. Elly Tumwine, has attracted mixed reactions.

Following his death this morning, a number of revelations are popping up about the kind person Tumwine was.

Ashraf Kasirye, a journalist currently attached to the National Unity Platform (NUP) media team says that in 2019, Tumwine caused his sacking from the New Vision.

“This gentleman #EllyTumwiine met @rkabushenga in 2019 and told him I should be fired from vision group because he had information that I am a ‘SPY’ for @HEBobiwine. Kabushenga told me, stop covering him and stay or continue and leave. I took the last option. Tumwine is gone,” Kasirye tweeted Thursday morning.

President Yoweri Museveni described Tumwine as a dedicated and hardworking cadre.
