Exclusive: Deputy Chief Justice involved in road accident

The Deputy Chief Justice, Richard Buteera, was this afternoon involved in an accident, Kampala Gazette has learnt.

We have exclusively obtained that the accident happened at 4:50pm at Bujabe, Kafu in Nakasongola district on the Kampala-Gulu highway.

The incident involved the DCJ’s official vehicle, registration number, UG 0873J (Toyota Prado dark blue in color) and others: registration numbers- UG 0961 (Toyota hilux) and UG 0994J (Toyota hillux). The DJC was heading to the northern district of Gulu when the minor accident happened.

The damaged cars have been parked at Kafu Police Station. It is not known yet whether the DCJ was in his official vehicle.

The Judiciary is yet to release an official statement in regards to the matter.

However, the matter has been documented Vide TAR 33/2022 (minor accident).
