Fiscal Policy: Bobi Wine blocks NTV’s Patrick Kamara from interviewing him
By Ivan Ssali
The Leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), the largest Opposition political party (by representation in Parliament), has blocked NTV Uganda journalist, Patrick Kamara from interviewing him.
In his earlier rise as the country’s Opposition Political Leader, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine was hosted on NTV Uganda’s popular political talk show, On the Spot. Kamara is the host of the Thursday-talk show. However, Kyagulanyi struggled to explain a number of issues, including fiscal policy. While Bobi Wine struggled, in the same room was his ‘bodyguard’ Eddie Mutwe, who had Kyagulanyi’s mug, from which he (Kyagulanyi) would drink from during the break to “cool off.”
Kyagulanyi reportedly became uncomfortable with the questions that were being fired at him, and thought to him himself: Kamara was hired to expose me.
A source at the Serena-based TV station tells Kampala Gazette that after that night, Kyagulanyi tasked NTV Uganda not to ever send Kamara to interview him. He has also since kept away from On the Spot.
In fact, since then (September 2020), only Ali Mivule, Priscilla Regina Nalwoga and Andrew Kyamagero have interviewed Kyagulanyi.
