Forgotten: Top NRM Mobilizer Dies Cursing, Party Supporters React

By An Executive Editor

A renown National Resistance Movement (NRM) mobilizer in the central region is dead.

Eng. Idris Kamuntu died at 2am this morning at Mulago hospital.

Close friends say he was diabetic.

The deceased was affiliated to “Team Thorough YKM”, one of the biggest mobilization groups of the ruling party, Eng. Kamuntu was referred to Mulago for specialized treatment on Wednesday from JALU hospital in Kyaliwajala, Namugongo where he had been admitted. At Jalu hospital, a private facility, his friends had failed to manage what they described as an overwhelming bill.

Eng. Kamuntu before he died this morning.

His death has, however, caused uproar amongst top party circles over neglect.

Many NRM diehards have come out to condemn the party’s neglect and abandonment of their own in a time of need- yet he had been instrumental in galvanising Buganda region for President Yoweri Museveni.

NRM faithfuls accuse NRM party officials of being more interested in financing funeral bills than medical bills.

Here some messages shared as sent to us:

“NRM SECRETARIAT KALE ESWALEKO EBEEKO KYEKOLERA OMULAMBO.”

“We are discussing the living in relation to the dead maybe they will wake up to do something for those who are still living.”

“NRM BIG WIGS WILL FLOOD AT HIS BURIAL TO THANK HIM FOR HIS CONTRIBUTION.”

“You cant seperate M7 from NRM. He is NRM and NRM M7. NRM should look out for cadres who work tirelessly for its sustainability. Its called Cadre identification, orientation and placement. Which is non-existent.”

“Let’s lower ourselves and suffer very well. People usually think they’re relevant and big in NRM but we will not mind their disappointment. Am hustler from Kabale hills.”

“HE DIED🙌

NRM PEOPLE ABANDONED HIM.”

“What hurts me is that some people here think that they’re big and relevant in NRM which is not true.”
