Full statement: Busoga Kingdom says: There is no record for any marriage of His Majesty in the United Kingdom or anywhere else in the world

By Executive Editor

Busoga Kingdom has in a statement released on Saturday said that there is no record for any marriage of His Majesty the Kyabazinga in the United Kingdom or anywhere else in the world.

This, as a random woman, claims legal marriage with the Busoga King. The said woman has petitioned the Church to block the Kyabazinga’s wedding to Ms. Jovia Mutesi, scheduled for November 18, 2023.

The Kingdom Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muvawala says the King “has never sired any children, is not a British citizen and the purported Alison Anne Gabula is unknown to him and has never been married to His Majesty.”

Full statement

I bring warm greetings from His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV, the Isebantu Kyabazinga of Busoga. That I am glad to inform you that preparations for the Busoga Royal wedding (between His Majesty and the Inhebantu Her Highness Jovia Mutesi scheduled for the 18th November 2023 at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe are moving on very well and we thank all the several individuals, Government and corporate entities that have partnered with the Kingdom in this noble and historic cause.

Our attention has been drawn to a letter from Mugerwa and Partners Advocates dated 8th November 2023 and addressed to the Arch Bishop Church of Uganda, Dr. Steven Kazimba Mugalu, which letter contains both defamatory and false information for which the record needs to be set clear. The Kingdom has since contacted the Arch Bishop Church of Uganda who has confirmed receipt of the same and notes that although the said letter under paragraph 2 makes reference to a marriage certificate as attached Annexure A, none was supplied to the Arch Bishop or Bishop of Busoga Diocese as alleged.

For the record, His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV has never been married to anyone under the known forms of marriage in Uganda and elsewhere, has never sired any children, is not a british citizen and the purported Alison Anne Gabula is unknown to him and has never been married to His Majesty. There is no record for any marriage of His Majesty in the United Kingdom or anywhere else in the world and the content of the said letter is subject to police investigations. The Kingdom has formerly reported these malicious and defamatory occurrences to police and other security agencies who have since commenced investigations into these criminal and illicit activities intended to create panic and anxiety among the Basoga and general public. The investigations have since led to the arrest of some culprits who are offering useful guides on the motive and persons behind these social media blackmail activities and the general public will be notified on subsequent actions and prosecutions. The Kingdom has also instructed its lawyers to commence civil and criminal proceedings against all persons involved in these criminal activities and ensure that all involved and their accomplices are prosecuted accordingly. I call upon all the Basoga, friends of Busoga and the general public to ignore these baseless allegations and treat them with the contempt deserved.

In the meantime, we would like to inform you that the King and Inhebantu are in fine health and jovial moods gearing up for the historic occasion slated for the 18th November 2023 and the Royal wedding central Organizing Committee shall subsequently be releasing the program and other relevant details for the wedding day.
