The Alliance for National Transformation – ANT – has issued a statement regarding Paul Mwiru’s exit.
Mwiru is said to have crossed to ANT’s rival political party, the National Unity Platform – NUP.
According to Alice Alaso, the Ag.National Coordinator, ANT, Mwiru “has been in the top decision-making organ of the Allience for National Transformation, where he has played a significant role in Party growth.”
“His input will definitely be missed. Nonetheless, we wish Paul well in his next political home,” Alaso said in a statement Saturday.
Alaso says ANT continues with the “painstaking and deliberate process of developing and deploying values-based leaders – mean and women of conviction towards the change of political culture in Uganda.”
“The Alliance for National Transformation will continue working with other political parties, organizations, well-meaning individuals, and stakeholders to bring about a meaningful Transition in Uganda,” Alaso, a former MP says.
This is not the first time NUP is fishing from the Opposition. In fact, a number of their members are from the Democratic Party – DP.
