Geneva, Switzerland: NITA-U wins the WSIS Digital Service Design Award
NITA Uganda has received the prestigious World Summit for Information Society (WSIS) Digital Service Design Award for its digital authentication and eSignatures solution, UGPass.
Through this award, the WSIS recognizes organizations that demonstrate excellence in designing and implementing digital services that enhance accessibility, inclusivity, and user experience and highlights the new benchmarks the UGPass Solution has set in the field of digital authentication and electronic document signing.
While receiving the award at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, Ms. Brenda Maniraguha, the project manager of UGPass, expressed deep gratitude for the honor, stating that winning the WSIS Digital Service Design Prize is an extraordinary achievement for Uganda and reflects NITA-U’s unwavering commitment to harnessing digital technologies to transform the lives of citizens. “We are incredibly proud of the dedication and ingenuity of the NITA-U Team, which have been instrumental in this success,” she added.
