Nine police officers, including the late CP Christine Alalo have Friday been awarded medals during the Heroes’ Day Celebrations held at Kasaala Catholic Parish grounds in Luwero District. CP Alalo was awarded a posthumous medal. She died in an Ethiopian Airlines aircraft crash in 2019.  The crash killed 149 passengers and 8 cabin crew members. At the time of e death,  CP Alalo was the Acting Police Commissioner of AMISON in Somalia.

Other awardees are: AIGP Edyegu Richard, the Director, Logistics and Engineering, and   AIGP John Ndugutse (Personal Sacrifice Medal); AIGP Abbas Byakagaba, the Director Counter Terrorism (long service Gold medal – 30 years plus).

D/ASP Rwego David Muhoozi, AIP Kabagenyi Naume, Rtd SSP Kwerit Christopher, AIP Alex Wagaluka and SGT Bwiire Benard were also recognized.
