Imams and Amirats have commended the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) for extending support to Muslim communities during the holy month of Ramadan, describing the gesture as a sign of unity, compassion, and inclusiveness.
The appreciation follows URA’s Eid al-Fitr donation, which beneficiaries say came at a meaningful time as Muslims concluded the fasting period.
Religious leaders noted that the initiative reflects a growing spirit of corporate social responsibility and interfaith solidarity. They described the gesture as “a first of its kind,” highlighting its significance in fostering goodwill between public institutions and communities.
“This act demonstrates URA’s commitment to inclusiveness and care for all people, regardless of background,” some of the leaders said.
They further called on other institutions, both public and private, to emulate such initiatives that promote social cohesion and support vulnerable groups, especially during important religious observances.
URA, in its message, extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to Muslims across the country, emphasizing the values of generosity, unity, and compassion that define the season.
