A 39-year-old Ugandan woman was found dead inside her rented house at Sambarani Kuttai in Keeranatham here on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Fauzia Azizi Mugenyi, who came to India eight months ago on a business visa, police said. She recently underwent surgery to cure ulcer and was staying alone.

The house owner, who reached the place to collect rent, had found the door locked from inside.

“The woman had vomited blood. Medicines were found next to the bed. After vomiting, she tried to reach the door, but couldn’t do it. It looks like she died of natural causes,” a police officer said. “The body was slightly decomposed.”

Fauzia’s friend Abdul Rahman, 29, of Sudan, who is studying in a city college, had visited her on June 5. The Kovilpalayam police have registered a case of suspicious death.
